Resolving Issues with Linking Your Stripe Account and Locale's Impact on Earnings
Lasso pays your Marketplace earnings through a Payouts system set up through Stripe. If you're experiencing issues linking your Stripe account or have questions about the impact of your account's locale on earnings, this guide will help address these concerns.
Troubleshooting Errors During Stripe Account Linking
If you encounter errors after mistakenly beginning to set up a Stripe account in the wrong country, such as the U.S. instead of Canada, follow these steps to resolve the issue and reconfigure your account:
Navigate to the Payouts section within your Lasso account settings.
Locate and click the Disconnect Stripe Account button to remove the incorrect initial connection associated with the wrong country.
Once the account is disconnected, the page will refresh. You will be prompted to select a country. Choose the correct country (e.g., Canada) from the dropdown menu.
Click the Connect to Stripe button and proceed to enter your bank details as prompted for the selected country.
By following these steps, you can ensure the account is linked to the correct locale and avoid disruptions in payouts. If the error persists after completing these steps, reach out for further support.
Understanding the Impact of Stripe Account Locale on Earnings
Many users wonder whether the selected locale for their Stripe account affects their earnings, especially if their earnings originate from another country. The good news is:
The locale set for your Stripe account does not impact your earnings directly.
It only influences how you receive payments, such as the currency and bank transfer preferences.
For example, having a Stripe account set to Canada won’t affect any earnings you receive from the US or other countries. It simply determines the bank and payout options available to you. By ensuring your account's locale is configured correctly, you can confidently manage your payments without worrying about its effect on your earnings.
