Overview
When Lasso can't find a higher commission for the exact product you're promoting, it looks for similar products from brands in our network that offer premium commission rates.
If it finds a good match, you'll see it in your Opportunities tab.
What are Opportunities?
Opportunities are personalized recommendations for products that pay you more than the products you're currently promoting.
Unlike automatically-applied higher commissions, they're not the exact same product. Instead, they're very similar alternatives to ones you're already promoting.
For example, imagine you're recommending a neck massager on your website or YouTube channel.
If that exact product isn't part of one of Lasso's Brand Deals, Lasso may find another neck massager from a different brand that offers a significantly higher commission.
Rather than leaving you to search for alternatives yourself, Lasso surfaces those recommendations automatically.
How does Lasso find Opportunities?
First, make sure you've connected your site or channel.
After that, when a link is clicked, Lasso automatically checks to see if it's in our network.
If it's not, we search our network for products that are similar.
If we find a strong match, we create an Opportunity for you to review.
Where do I find my Opportunities?
Open the Opportunities tab in Lasso Creators.
Each Opportunity includes the information you need to decide whether it's a good fit, including:
The product you're currently promoting.
The recommended replacement product.
The available commission rate.
The pages or videos where you're promoting the original product.
How do I use an Opportunity?
If you decide the recommended product is a good fit for your audience:
Open the Opportunity.
Review the suggested product.
Click "Switch My Links" to replace it automatically (if applicable).
Otherwise, click to get the new affiliate link.
Then replace the existing Amazon link in your website or video description.
Tip: You can see where you're using this link in the bottom left corner.
What if I don't like the Opportunity?
You don't have to. Every Opportunity is optional.
If you don't think a recommended product is right for your audience, simply dismiss it by clicking "Keep My Links" under your current product.
Nothing changes to your existing content or affiliate links.
You remain in complete control over what you recommend.
How often are Opportunities updated?
Lasso is constantly adding new Brand Deals and products to our network.
As new deals become available, new Opportunities may appear in your account automatically.
It's a good idea to check your Opportunities every week or so to see if new recommendations have been added.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will Lasso automatically replace my links with the Opportunity?
No. Lasso only recommends similar products through Opportunities.
You decide whether you'd like to swap it or not.
Why wasn't my exact product upgraded automatically?
Automatic commission optimization only works when the exact Amazon product is part of a Lasso Brand Deal.
If it isn't, Lasso looks for similar products that may offer higher commissions instead.
How similar are the recommended products?
Lasso recommends products that are closely related to what you're already promoting.
In many cases, they're products in the same category with similar features, price points, or intended use.
You should always review a recommendation before deciding whether it's right for your audience.
