Overview
There are three essential tasks you need to complete in Lasso Lite in order to promote your affiliate products:
Adding Links to Lasso Lite
Adding Displays to Posts
Adding Text Links to Posts
Let's learn how!
A Note Before Getting Started
You'll need to install Lasso Lite on your WordPress site in order to add links and displays. If you haven't yet installed Lasso Lite, you can learn how to do that here.
1. Adding Links to Lasso Lite
Step 1: Getting Your Link
You can add any link to Lasso Lite. It can be an affiliate link, an internal link, you name it.
For non-Amazon affiliate links:
Add your full, monetized affiliate link.
For Amazon links:
Add your short or long SiteStripe links.
Or, add the Amazon URL straight from your browser!
If you add your Amazon tracking ID to Lasso Lite via Settings > Amazon, Lasso will monetize the link for you automatically. No need for SiteStripe at all!
We'll use an Amazon link as an example since Lasso Lite automatically pulls Amazon images, prices, and titles for you. π
βοΈ About Amazon Product Data
Lasso Lite pulls Amazon product data automatically.
Our Startup plan does this without needing additional API keys from Amazon.
Our Free plan does this as long as you've entered valid Amazon API Keys with sufficient credits.
Step 2: Adding Your Link
Click the button at the top right of Lasso Lite that says 'Add New Link'. Then, paste your link in the box that appears and hit 'Add Link'.
Lasso will start checking for any product data it can find from the API, and then you'll be redirected to the Link Details page.
Step 3: Customizing Your Link
This is the Link Details page. It's the control center for each of your Lasso links, where you can manage settings and appearance.
Since we used an Amazon link, the image, title, and price were added automatically. π
You can rewrite the title, add your own image, tweak the Button and Badge text, or write your best copy in the Description field to help you earn more clicks. (You just can't change the price on Amazon products because they don't allow that.)
Or, leave it as-is and get ready to add this display to your post!
2. Adding Displays to Posts
Now the fun part!
Weβve battle-tested our displays on more than a billion page views, focused on exactly what converts best!
Plus, we've streamlined the process to help you monetize your posts even faster.
Step 1: Adding the Lasso Block
Using the Gutenberg Editor as an example, click the '+' icon to add a new block. Then, click 'Lasso Lite'. (You may need to search for it first.)
Step 2: Choosing Your Display
You'll now see the Lasso Lite block. Click 'Add a Display' to choose your Display type.
Choose the 'Single' option to pick from your Single Displays.
Click 'Add' on the product you'd like to showcase.
Step 3: Preview
That's it! Your Display is now on your post.
You'll be adding more in no time!
π Don't use Classic Editor? No worries! Hit the chat bubble in the bottom right corner of this page or email us at [email protected], and we'll show you how to use Lasso Lite on your editor of choice.
3. Adding Text Links to Posts
You can add Lasso Lite text links to your posts just like you do with internal links to your other posts.
Step 1: Selecting the Text
First, highlight the text you want to turn into a text link. Then, click the link icon that appears in your editor.
Step 2: Choosing Your Link
In the text box that appears, start typing the name of one of the products you've added to Lasso Lite.
Your link will appear in the dropdown list. You'll know it's a Lasso Link because it'll say Lasso-Urls
beside the link name.
Step 3: View the Text Link
After you click on the link in the dropdown box from Step 2, you'll then see your text link in your post.
When readers click that, they'll be redirected to your affiliate link just like if they clicked on one of your Displays.
