Overview

Want to turn a group of affiliate links into clean, high-converting product displays? Lasso’s Grid, List, and Gallery displays make it easy to showcase multiple products in a way that’s beautiful, scannable, and built to convert.

There's no limit to how many products you can show, and you can add the same Lasso Link to as many Groups and Displays as you'd like.

Here's how to make it happen:

  • Add your links to Lasso.

  • Add those links to the Group you want to showcase.

  • Add that Group to your post using either the Grid, List, or Gallery Display type.

But first, let's look at the different types of Displays.

Differences between Grid, List, and Gallery Displays

Lasso handles the formatting — you just pick the display that fits your content best.

Grid Displays

Grid Displays are ideal when you want to show multiple product side by side while still incorporating a bit of a description and overview.

Use Grids when:

  • You’re writing a “best of” roundup or comparison guide.

  • You want a quick visual overview early in the post.

  • You’re helping readers compare options at the end of a post.

List Displays

List Displays give each product more breathing room — perfect for building out the body of your posts.

Use Lists when:

  • You’re building a Top 10 or Buying Guide

  • You want to include detailed commentary or reviews

  • Your display is the blog post (yes, that works too!)

    • Just drop in a heading, add a few lines for a conclusion, and you’ve got a fully-formed product guide.

Gallery Displays

Gallery Displays are your go-to when visuals matter most and you don't want a lot of surrounding text or CTAs.

Use Galleries when:

  • You’re curating a "Shop This Page" section.

  • You’re creating a style-forward roundup, especially in fashion, art, and home posts.

  • You want to break up long blocks of text with visuals.

Creating Grid, List, and Gallery Displays

🌵 NOTE: Grid, List, and Gallery Displays are available with the paid Lasso plugin. If you're using Lasso Lite, upgrade today for more high-converting display options!

Step 1: Add Links to Your Lasso Dashboard

If you haven't yet, start by adding your affiliate links to the Lasso WordPress plugin. Repeat this for each product you want to include in your display.

You'll add these links to your Group, and you'll add a Grid, List, or Gallery based on the Group you select.

Step 2: Create Your Group

Now, let’s organize your links into a Group. There are two options:

There are two options to create a Group and add products to it:

  • Via the Link Details pages of your Lasso Links.

  • Via the Groups tab.

Creating a Group and Adding Products from the Link Details Page

1. Once you navigate to a Lasso product, scroll down until you see the Groups text box towards the bottom of the left column.

2. Type the name you'd like to give your Group, and then click the purple box with your Group name (or hit Enter on your keyboard).

3. Once that's done, you'll see your Group appear in the text box. Be sure to scroll down and hit the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen!

4. Repeat this process on the Link Details pages for any additional Lasso Links you'd like to add to your Group.

Or, add those products via the Groups Tab! 👇

Creating a Group and Adding Products from the Groups Tab

1. Click Groups in the lefthand sidebar of the Lasso plugin to navigate to the Groups page.

2. There, you'll see a green Add New Group button. Click that if you're starting a Group from scratch.

3. Or, click on any of your existing Group names if you want to add products to that Group.

4. When you click on a Group name, you'll see all of the Lasso Links in that Group.

5. Click the Add a Link button to pull up a list of all your existing Lasso Links, which you can add to your Group. Choose as many Links as you'd like!

Bonus: How to Rearrange the Order of Links in Your Group

Within the Groups page, you can drag and drop the order in which your Lasso Links will appear in the Grid.

To move a Link, hover over the product until you see the group of squares on the left-hand side. Then, drag and drop that Link to be in the order you'd like it to show in your Group.

😎 TIP: You can rearrange your Group and add new Links at any time. Once you're done, it will instantly update all of that Group's Displays on your site to reflect the new order and products.

This is an easy way to optimize and test the order of your products!

Step 3: Add Your Grid, List, or Gallery Display

NOTE: These steps are specific to the default Gutenberg editor. If you're using a different builder, check here for details.

1. In your post editor, create a new Lasso Block. You may have to search for "Lasso" to get it to appear the first time.

2. Click Add a Display to bring up the Lasso Display modal.

3. Choose whether you'd like to show a Grid, Gallery, or List.

4. Click Add for the Group you'd like to display.

This will add a Lasso Block with the Lasso shortcode, and you'll be able to see a preview of exactly what it will look like. Here's an example for a Grid Display:

Optional: How to Customize Your Grid, List, and Galleries with Shortcode Arguments

You can use shortcode arguments in your Grid, List, and Galleries to customize things like:

  • The number of columns

  • The appearance of the List numbers

  • How many products show in the Display.

You can view each shortcode option for your Display via the righthand Block settings in your post editor. Like this:

TIP: Read more about shortcodes in our shortcode reference guide.
