Can You Add Geni.us Links to Lasso?

Yes, you can add your Genius links to Lasso just like any other affiliate link.

Lasso will still pull all of the Amazon product data you're used to, like the price, title, and image.

If you use Geniuslink to generate affiliate links, you need to be sure you're following any relevant Terms of Service. 👇

What to Consider with Amazon Links

Most affiliate programs allow cloaking, but some do not.

The big one here is Amazon. According to the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement Program Policies documentation:

“You will not cloak, hide, spoof, or otherwise obscure the URL of your Site containing Special Links (including by use of Redirecting Links) or the user agent of the application in which Content is displayed or used such that we cannot reasonably determine the site or application from which a customer clicks through such Special Link to the Amazon Site.”

For this reason, Lasso doesn't cloak Amazon links, since Amazon may have an issue with that.

Can I Still Cloak My Geniuslinks in Lasso?

Geniulink does allow cloaking of Amazon links, and we understand that some users may want to retain their geni.us link structure.

For this reason, Lasso will not convert your geni.us links to traditional amazon.com links. If you add a geni.us Amazon link to Lasso, it will remain a geni.us link in the Primary Destination URL field.

Unlike standard Amazon affiliate links, Lasso will also allow you to cloak your Geniuslinks to your site's branded domain.

If you'd prefer your links to appear as geni.us links instead of traditional cloaked links, you can disable the Link Cloaking toggle at the bottom of the Link Details page.

What If I Want to Use Lasso for Amazon Links but Still Use Geniuslink for Internationalization?

Great plan! The safer alternative is to add Amazon.com links directly into Lasso. Plus:

  1. There's no need to go into your Amazon Associates account to generate an affiliate link.

  2. It'll be easier to manage links in Lasso than in both Lasso and Geniuslink.

  3. You'll never have cloaked Amazon links that could risk violating Amazon's Terms of Service.

If you use Lasso to create your Amazon links, make sure the Tracking ID for This Site field in Lasso > Settings > Amazon matches the tracking ID you have in Geniuslink.

Then, all you'll need from Geniuslink is to install the Geniuslink code snippet to internationalize your links, and you're good to go!
