Sometimes you may need to export your Lasso links to a new/other WordPress installation.

Such as swapping to a fresh installation of WordPress where you want to keep you Lasso data.

Let's look at the ways you can do that.

Important Note: Before attempting data transfers or exporting your Lasso content, you should take multiple full backups of your content and databases. Lasso support typically can't help you fix any errors with your Lasso data not transferring correctly, so you do this knowing those risks!

Export/Transfer With Your Hosting Provider

Typically the ideal method for transferring Lasso data between WordPress installations is to use the tools or services provided by your host(s).

Many hosting providers provide free or paid WordPress migration services and they have the unique knowledge to give you the best results with the least amount of issues.

They will likely take backups and be able to restore past versions if anything goes wrong.

Export/Transfer Using WP All Import

If you're planning to do a data transfer on your own or with assistance from a developer, WP All Import is the way to go.

Lasso is an official add-on partner with WP All Import:

You'll need to use WP All Import's Export features to pull out your Lasso content.

Then WP All Import's Import features to import to a new installation.

Lasso Data Locations

Whatever method of export/import or data transfer you are using, it may be helpful to know where Lasso data is stored in your WordPress databases.

The first thing to know is that Lasso links are stored as custom post types inside WordPress.

So you can look into querying the wp_posts table to locate those Lasso custom post types.

Other Lasso configuration details are then stored in the lasso_url_details table and you should also check for other tables beginning with the lasso_ prefix!
