Which Plugin Do You Need?
The Lasso Lite plugin is currently used for all Startup and Free subscriptions. If you're a Startup or Free subscriber, you're in the right place. 👍
The Pro plan uses the Lasso Pro plugin. You can find instructions for installing Lasso Pro right here.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Installing the Lasso Lite Plugin
1. Navigate to your Lasso sites page: http://app.getlasso.co/sites.
2. Click the green Download button to get the ZIP file for the plugin.
3. (Free users can skip this step). For Startup Users: Copy your License Key because you'll need it later.
4. On your WordPress site, go to the Plugins page and click the Add New Plugin button at the top.
5. Then, click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the next page.
6. Click the Choose File button.
7. Choose your Lasso Lite plugin and then click the Open button. The plugin will be a ZIP file and will say lasso-lite.
🤔 Are you seeing just a plain folder called 'simple-urls' instead of the ZIP file? If so, do this:
Click the 'Cancel' button instead of choosing a plugin file.
Navigate to your Downloads file on your computer.
Right-click on the 'simple-urls' file and choose Compress "simple-urls".
Then, repeat steps 6 and 7 to upload the compressed ZIP file to WordPress.
8. Your Lasso Lite ZIP file will then show in the upload box. Click the Install Now button.
9. Then, click Activate Plugin.
✅ You'll know this worked if you see 'Plugin activated' after clicking the Activate Plugin button.
10. Click on Lasso Lite in the WordPress sidebar.
11. Complete the setup steps to configure your Lasso Lite plugin.
12a. For Startup Users: Add your license key from Step #3 and click the green Activate Lasso button. (You can find your license key again at http://app.getlasso.co/sites if needed).
🤔 Didn't see the license key option when installing Lasso Lite? No worries! Navigate to Lasso Lite > Settings > General. You can add your license key there anytime.
12b. For Free Users: Click the blue 'Continue without a license key' text.
That's it! You're now ready to use Lasso Lite and will finish setting up the plugin on the next screen. 🎉
Additional Steps for Multiple Sites
🚥 Free users can skip this step. You don't need to activate your sites through your Lasso account on a free plan.
If you're on the Startup paid plan and this isn't the first site you're installing Lasso Lite on, you'll need to:
1. Navigate to https://app.getlasso.co/sites.
2. Flip the WordPress toggle to the green 'on' position to activate Lasso Lite on that site.
3. Return to Lasso Lite on your WordPress site to start using the plugin.
Get the Latest Updates
💡 Enabling auto-updates ensures you'll always have the latest Lasso features and improvements.
In the Plugins tab, click the 'Enable auto-updates' button to ensure you're always running the most up-to-date version of Lasso Lite.
