What to Do If Lasso Isn't Detecting the Links on Your Site

How to restart the "Auto-Detect Affiliate Links" and "Auto-Monetize Amazon Links" processes.

Written by Caitlin Ward

🚥 Note: This process is for detecting links on your WordPress posts and importing them into the Lasso WordPress plugin. It is not intended for troubleshooting syncing links from the WordPress plugin to your Lasso account.

Overview

Lasso should automatically detect and import any new link from major networks like Amazon, Impact, ShareASale, and CJ. Within 24 hours of adding the link to your WordPress post, you should then automatically see it imported into your Lasso Dashboard.

If those links aren't showing up in your Lasso Dashboard, it's possible the automatic scan didn’t catch them. Here's how to troubleshoot and manually force a new scan if needed.

Step 1: Check Your Settings

💡 Tip: Don't forget to hit "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page if you chance your settings!

Lasso has two settings to automatically import links from your posts on a recurring basis:

  • Auto-Detect Affiliate Links

  • Enable Amazon Auto-Monetization

Auto-Detect Affiliate Links

Make sure this is on if you want Lasso to detect and import links from major affiliate networks like Impact, CJ, and ShareASale.

You can find it under Lasso > Settings > General. 👇

Enable Amazon Auto-Monetization

Make sure this is on if you want Lasso to detect and import links specifically from Amazon.

You can find it under Lasso > Settings > Amazon. 👇

Bonus: Custom Post Types

If the above settings are enabled and your links still aren't importing, check your Custom Link Detection preferences.

Use this setting to tell Lasso to check for links in Custom Post Types and Custom Fields.

If a link is in one of those places, Lasso may not be able to "see" it unless you add the Post or Field under Custom Link Detection.

You can find this under Lasso > Settings > General. 👇

Step 2: Start a Fresh Scan of Your Site

If your Settings look right, Lasso automatic scans may have been blocked or stopped. Follow these steps to manually restart a fresh scan.

1. Go to your Lasso Settings with Support Mode Enabled. To do this, visit:

{your-domain.com}/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=lasso-urls&page=settings-general&support=true

Replace {your-domain.com} with your actual domain. Alternatively, go to your normal Lasso Settings page and add &support=true to the end of the URL.

2. Click the Rebuild Database Button.

It'll be under the Link Index section in the top right. 👇

3. Click Confirm in the pop-up modal to start the scan.

4. Watch for the Confirmation Banner and Automation Spinner.

You’ll see a green banner confirming the rebuild has started.

In the top menu, you'll also see a spinning automation icon showing your progress. When it stops spinning and shows no automations are running, the rebuild is complete.
