Overview
You can ue Lasso embeds on non-WordPress sites (like Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, or any site where you can add custom code) to show product displays and track clicks from your Lasso account.
Using WordPress? Install the Lasso plugin instead. This guide is for JavaScript embed sites only.
How it works
Embeds use two pieces:
One site-wide JavaScript snippet, which helps Lasso communicate with your site.
A unique HTML code per link, which places a specific display on a page.
Add both, and your displays will load automatically. When you update a link in Lasso, every page using that embed updates too.
Step 1: Add your site and install the JavaScript snippet
In Lasso, go to Properties → Website → Install.
Add your site URL and choose JavaScript embed.
Copy the embed code from the setup steps and paste it just before the closing
</body>tag on your site.
Common places to add it:
Custom code or tracking scripts
Theme header/footer code settings
Google Tag Manager (as a Custom HTML tag on All Pages)
Back in Lasso, click Check for JS Embed button to confirm it’s installed.
If prompted, add your Amazon Associates tracking ID so Amazon links are tagged correctly.
Step 2: Customize the appearance
Go to Properties → Website → Display Settings to customize the default settings for your site.
For each site, you can choose a default theme and then set the colors that apply to that theme.
Once you're done, hit Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Step 3: Add your links
Go to Links.
Click Add Link and paste any URL, or choose one from the list.
Customize the title, description, badge, button text, and display theme if you’d like.
Step 4: Copy the embed code
If you're still on the page where you customized you link, stay there. If no, go back to your Links page and click any link to see the Link Details page.
In Share kit at the top of the page, click Copy embed.
Choose the right format:
HTML Embed: Default for most sites
Wix Embed: For Wix and any other sites where HTML works as <iframe>.
Step 5: Paste it on your page
On any blog post or landing page where you want the display to appear, paste the embed code in an Embed, HTML, or Code block. (Exact wording may depend on the type of site you're using.)
You can use the same embed code on multiple pages.
Example:
Step 6: Review your display
Publish or save the changes and then preview your post. The display should load with the correct image, text, and button.
Tip: If you try the HTML embed and it doesn't work, try copying the Wix embed instead. It can work on non-Wix sites too!
If everything is set up properly:
The embed will load automatically.
No additional configuration is required.
Updates to the embed will reflect automatically across all pages where it’s used.
Troubleshooting
Display not showing?
Make sure the site-wide JavaScript snippet is installed (Step 1)
Clear the cache on the post
Confirm the embed HTML is pasted exactly as copied
Clear your site cache and refresh
Try the Wix Embed instead of the HTML Embed
FAQs
Do I need both the JavaScript snippet and the embed HTML?
Usually yes. The snippet powers all embeds and click tracking on your site; each display needs its own embed code. Wix Embed includes both the JavaScript snippet and the embed HTML.
Can I reuse the same embed on multiple pages?
Yes.
Will Amazon images show in my displays?
On eligible paid plans, Lasso pulls Amazon images and prices into your displays automatically and keeps them updated.
Do you have instructions for specific types of sites?
If you don't see your site listed, it doesn't mean we don't support it yet. It just means someone hasn't asked yet. 🤓 We're happy to write it for you!
