What information does Lasso auto-fill, and what do I need to add manually for non-Amazon links?

For non-Amazon links, Lasso can automatically pull in some basic information, but you’ll usually need to add key details yourself to complete the link.

What does Lasso auto-fill for non-Amazon links?

When you paste a non-Amazon URL into Lasso, it can automatically detect and fill in:

  • The destination URL

  • The page title, when available

  • A featured image, if one is publicly accessible on the page

  • Basic metadata used to create the link

This helps you get started quickly without building everything from scratch.

What do I need to add manually for non-Amazon links?

For non-Amazon links, you are responsible for adding and confirming important details, such as:

  • Product name (if the page title isn’t ideal)

  • Price information

  • Product description or highlights

  • Call-to-action text

  • Any custom images you want to use

  • Brand or category details, if relevant

Because non-Amazon sites don’t follow a consistent structure, Lasso can’t reliably auto-fill these fields.

Why is Amazon different?

Amazon product pages follow a standardized format, which allows Lasso to automatically pull in richer data like pricing, images, and product details.

Non-Amazon sites vary widely, so Lasso limits auto-fill to information it can confidently detect and leaves the rest up to you.

Can I edit auto-filled information?

Yes.
Anything Lasso auto-fills can be edited, replaced, or removed. You’re always in control of how your links and displays appear.

Do non-Amazon links still work with Lasso displays and Pages?

Yes.
Once you add the missing details, non-Amazon links work normally with:

  • Lasso displays

  • Lasso Pages

  • Cloaked and managed links

The only difference is how much information is filled in automatically at creation.

In simple terms

Lasso auto-fills basic link information for non-Amazon links, but you’ll usually need to add product details like price, description, and images manually since those sites don’t follow a standard format.
