Will I Stay Compliant with Amazon if I Use Lasso?

Yes! Lasso has automatic protections in place to keep you compliant. This is the case whether or not you've added your own API credentials in Lasso.

1. Pricing

Requirements

If you display Amazon prices, they need to be updated at least every 24 hours. You also must add a date and time stamp to show when the price was last updated.

How Lasso Helps

Lasso automatically refreshes your Amazon prices and updates them in your Displays daily. It'll also add a timestamp to the bottom of all Displays that include Amazon prices.

You can also disable the Amazon pricing in your Lasso Displays if you'd prefer. You can do this by toggling off the Price option for your Amazon products in the Link Details page.

2. Disclosures

Requirements

Amazon requires a disclosure for their affiliate links.

How Lasso Helps

You can add disclosures to every Single Display. The disclosure is fully customizable. You can use Lasso's default or write your own copy in the Disclosure box by navigating to Lasso > Settings > Display.

Note: By default, Lasso doesn't add disclosures to multiple products Displays, like Tables and Grids. If you'd like to add a disclosure to those Displays, please contact [email protected], and we'll help add those for you!

3. Linking to Other Stores

Requirements

Amazon doesn't want you to link to another store if you're using Amazon's image and price.

How Lasso Helps

While you can include other links in your Displays, we recommend against it for Amazon links. If you'd like to link to two stores in the same Lasso Display, we recommend either:

  1. Disabling the price and adding your own product image.

  2. Using Amazon in the Secondary Button.

Whichever option you choose, this will ensure that price and image information won't pull from Amazon's API.

4. Link Cloaking

Requirements

Amazon doesn't want you to cloak their links unless you make it clear to readers that they're going to Amazon when they click your links.

How Lasso Helps

Lasso defaults to not cloaking Amazon links. If you decide to cloak your Amazon links, we will automatically add /amazon/ to your cloaked link to make it clear that it points to Amazon.

Disclosure

These are just a few key points to look out for based on our interpretation of Amazon's terms. While Lasso isn't responsible for making you compliant, we give you the tools to be.

If you're ever uncertain about Amazon's Terms of Service, we recommend consulting with a lawyer.
