How to Add Lasso’s Embed Script and Displays to Squarespace

We'll cover how to add the JavaScript to Squarespace's <head> section and how to add product displays to your posts.

Overview

Lasso Embeds help you add Single product displays anywhere on your site.

This guide walks through:

  1. Adding Lasso’s JavaScript embed script to Squarespace

  2. Adding individual Lasso embed displays to specific pages or posts

Once set up, your embeds will automatically stay up to date, including prices, images, and any changes you make.

What Is the JavaScript?

The JavaScript is what connects your site to your Lasso account. This will:

  • 📈 Track clicks to your links.

  • 🏎️ Apply automations like brand deals, mobile deep linking, and internationalization (when enabled).

  • 🎨 Add the correct information and styling to your product displays.

Step 1: Add the Lasso Embed Script to Squarespace

😮‍💨 NOTE: You only have to do this step once. You never have to change it or update it unless specifically asked by the Lasso team, which is rare.

Copy the Script from Your Lasso Account

You can find th script in your Lasso account on the Embeds Installation page.

  • If you've already added the site to Lasso, click the < > button to copy the script.

  • If you haven't yet added the site, click the Add Site button to get your script.

Add the Script to Squarespace

Starting at 1:42, this video shows the process of adding JavaScript to the <head> section of Squarespace.

  1. Log in to your Squarespace account.

  2. Open the website you want to use with Lasso.

  3. Go to Utilities → Website Tools → Code Injection.

  4. Locate the Header field.

  5. Paste the copied Lasso script into the Header box.

  6. Save your changes.

✅ That’s it! Your Squarespace site is now ready to use Lasso embeds.

Step 2: Add a Product Display Embed to a Squarespace Page or Post

💡 TIP: If you don't have any links or products in Lasso, you can add them at app.getlasso.co/links. Click on any of your links there to go to the specific Link Details page.

Anytime you want to show a product display on your post, all you need to do is:

Get the embed code from Lasso

Copy the embed HTML code provided in your Lasso Link Details page for the product display you'd like to show.

Add the embed to Squarespace

Starting at 1:14, this video shows the process of adding and embed to Squarespace.

  1. Open the page editor or blog post editor in Squarespace.

  2. Click Add Block where you want the display to appear.

  3. Choose an Embed block.

  4. Hover over the new Embed block and click the pencil icon to edit it.

  5. In the Content editor that appears, change Embed As to Code Snippet.

  6. Click Embed Data and paste the Lasso embed HTML into the Code block.

  7. Save your changes.

The display will show automatically when the page is published or previewed.

For Amazon products, the price and image will update automatically. If you change any of the link details (like the URL, description, etc) in the Lasso Link Details page, it will update in the product display automatically within 24 hours
