Overview
Keep editing recipes in WP Recipe Maker. Lasso does not replace the recipe editor.
Links stay in your recipes. Lasso finds them in recipe fields and can update them in place.
Import from Lasso’s Import tab. Recipe links appear under the WP Recipe Maker source.
WP Recipe Maker must be active on your site for Lasso to scan and update recipe links.
How it works
WP Recipe Maker stores recipe content in structured fields (notes, equipment, ingredients, instructions, and related affiliate fields). Lasso scans those fields, surfaces any affiliate links in your Lasso dashboard, and once imported, keeps them up to date when you change products or URLs in Lasso.
Your visitors still see a normal WP Recipe Maker recipe on the front end. Lasso works behind the scenes.
What you need
Lasso installed and active on your WordPress site.
WP Recipe Maker installed and active. If WP Recipe Maker is deactivated, Lasso will not scan or update recipe links.
Affiliate links placed in supported recipe fields (see below).
Optional: If you want Lasso to scan recipe posts directly (not only posts that embed a recipe), enable the Recipes post type (`wprm_recipe`) under Lasso → Settings → Custom Post Type Support. In most setups, scanning the blog post that contains the recipe is enough.
Step-by-step: from recipe link to managed Lasso link
1. Add affiliate links in WP Recipe Maker
Add your affiliate links wherever you normally would in a recipe, for example:
Recipe notes
Equipment: item name, notes, or WPRM equipment affiliate HTML
Ingredients: ingredient affiliate HTML or inline notes/text with links
Instructions: step text that includes links (including Amazon product URLs)
You do not need a special Lasso shortcode inside the recipe for Lasso to detect these links.
2. Publish or update the post that contains the recipe
Lasso discovers recipe links when it scans your content. For example, when you save a post, run a site scan, or when Lasso’s background scan runs.
If a recipe is embedded in a blog post (Gutenberg recipe block, shortcode, or common classic markup), scanning that post is usually enough for Lasso to find links inside the embedded recipe.
3. Import links from the WP Recipe Maker source
In WordPress, go to Lasso → Import.
Find links with source WP Recipe Maker.
Select the links you want to manage and import them as usual.
Importing creates a Lasso link for that URL so you can manage it from your Lasso dashboard (title, destination, monetization, and so on).
Already imported? Links that are already under Lasso management will show as checked and disabled in the Import list.
4. Manage links in Lasso as usual
After import, treat recipe links like any other Lasso link:
Update the destination URL or Amazon product in Lasso.
Apply your monetization and display settings.
Use Lasso’s reporting and link management tools.
When Lasso applies changes, it updates the link inside the WP Recipe Maker recipe data so the recipe keeps working in WP Recipe Maker and stays in sync on the front end.

What’s not covered
The following are not supported today:
Custom fields or premium-only WP Recipe Maker modules that store links outside the fields above
Legacy classic-editor edge cases where a recipe is not detectable from the post content

Do I have to move my links out of WP Recipe Maker?
No. Links stay in your recipes. Lasso manages them where they already live.
Do I edit recipes inside Lasso?
No. Continue creating and editing recipes in WP Recipe Maker. Use Lasso to import and manage the affiliate URLs.
My recipe has no text in the main “content” area. Will Lasso still find links?
Yes, in most cases. Recipe posts often have an empty main content field because links live in recipe meta (equipment, ingredients, etc.). Lasso scans those fields directly. Ensure WP Recipe Maker is active and that the post or recipe is included in your scan (see Custom Post Type Support above if you scan recipe posts directly).
I changed a link in Lasso. When will my recipe update?
After the link is imported and managed by Lasso, updates apply when Lasso rescans the content (For example, on save or during a site scan). If you do not see an update immediately, try saving the post that contains the recipe or running a manual scan from Lasso settings.
Can I use Site Stripe or image links inside recipes?
Lasso can process certain Amazon Site Stripe markup inside supported recipe HTML fields. Behavior may depend on how and where that markup appears in the recipe versus the main post body. If something does not monetize as expected, contact support with the recipe and post URL.
