How to Edit and Customize Links in Lasso

Everything you need to know about the Link Details page for each of your Lasso links.

🚥 NOTE: This support article is for managing links in the Lasso web app (app.getlasso.co). If you're looking to manage links in WordPress, we recommend starting here.

Overview

Once you've added your link to Lasso, you'll land on the Link Details page. This is where you'll control how your link looks and acts.

Let's break it down. Here's what you'll find on this page. 👇

Image and Title

The image and title are used to help easily identify and find your link.

If it's included in your Lasso plan, Lasso will automatically populate the title and image for you from Amazon's API.

If you'd like to customize them:

  • Click the image to upload an image from your computer.

  • Click the pencil icon to customize the title.

Affiliate Link

The link under Your Affiliate Link is the one you should share with your audience. Click the button beside it for easy copying!

Your unique shortened Lasso link is made up of two things:

Domain

The Domain is the web address that hosts your affiliate link. It’s the first part of your shortened link.

Having a short Domain makes your links look nicer and less spammy.

By default, everyone uses Lasso’s shared domain (lasso.to), but if you want to take it a step further, you can request a custom domain under the Domain dropdown box.

The Permalink is an identifier that is auto-generated for you. The Permalink is what makes the link unique, so it will never be the same across different links or different accounts.

🤔 Why do you see lasso.to for the link? This powers all of Lasso's features, like click tracking, boosting, and easy updating. You'll still keep all of those features even with a Custom Domain.

Primary Destination URL

This is the final URL users land on.

If a product goes out of stock, a link is broken, or you want to change your recommendation, all you need to do is change the Primary Destination URL.

Then, when your audience clicks your lasso.to Affiliate URL, they'll automatically go to your new Primary Destination URL.

🤔 Does the Primary Destination URL need to include your tracking ID? Yes! If you add your Amazon tracking ID to Lasso, we'll automatically turn plain Amazon links into your affiliate links. For all other stores and networks, you'll need to copy your link from their platform and add it to Lasso.

Boosted Toggle

The Boosted toggle is a setting available for all Amazon links.

When toggled on, Lasso will automatically do the following tasks each time a link is clicked:

  • Search for and apply the highest commission possible. If that's from our Marketplace, your Amazon Attribution tracking will be used. If that's the base Amazon rate, your Amazon tracking ID will be used.

  • Send your audience to the Amazon app.*

  • Send your audience to their local Amazon store.*

When toggled off, Lasso will keep the tracking included in your Primary Destination URL and won't check for better commission rates.

*Indicates paid features.

Categories

Use Categories to organize your links by adding categories. This is useful for grouping similar products.

Notes

The Notes field is for your use only and won't show to your audience. You can add any details or specifics for that link that you want to remember and reference later.
