Where Should I Get Amazon Product URLs to Use in Lasso?

Use the Amazon link straight from your browser or grab a SiteStripe link if you'd prefer. Lasso works with Amazon links from any country.

Which Amazon Links Work with Lasso?

Any of them! You have several options for adding Amazon links to Lasso:

  • Copy the raw link from your browser

  • Use the long or short SiteStripe link

🌐 NOTE: This works for US and non-US Amazon stores. The only requirement is that the country must have an Amazon Associates program.

Option 1: Copy the URL from Your Browser

Lasso makes it so easy to add Amazon links that you only need to copy and paste the Amazon URL straight from your browser.

All you need to do is ensure that you add your Amazon tracking ID in Lasso > Settings > Amazon.

Once your tracking ID has been added, we'll automatically add it to any Amazon links you add to Lasso.

Since Lasso is fully integrated with Amazon, we'll automatically grab the title, price, image, and Prime status for you too if you're using Lasso Pro.

This is the case regardless of whether or not you use your own Amazon API keys. Because of this, you don't need to generate the URL from Amazon Associates or SiteStripe.

We even remove all the extra garbage from the URL, so it's clean and less intimidating to readers! And it'll automatically be internationally monetized if you're part of the Pro plan. Learn more about that here.

Option 2: Copy the URL from SiteStripe

While it's optional, you can still use SiteStripe to generate your Amazon links.

You can use both short and long Amazon links from SiteStripe. For example:

  • amzn.to/123xyz

  • https://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&tag=testingid0b-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=0497fb12a774031f7ea1e0ec5a3dafd3&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=books&keywords=Cactus

Whichever option you choose, Lasso will automatically convert the link to a format like this:

https://www.amazon.com/ARIAT-Ladies-Cap-White-Cactus/dp/B08MWR7D52/?tag=primaryid-20

Lasso does this because it's the best of both worlds:

  • It expands the short links, which results in one less redirect and also helps make it easier to determine what the link is for.

  • It trims out the garbage from the long links, which makes them less intimidating to readers.

Lasso will never remove your tracking ID or any of the pieces Amazon needs to direct readers to the right product and give you credit for the sale.

NOTE: Don't want to trim your long Amazon links? You can stop this by going to Lasso > Settings > Amazon and toggling off the Shorten Amazon affiliate links option.

However you choose to add your Amazon links, rest assured that Lasso will always add your price and image info and update them to keep you compliant with Amazon!
